Attempts to deceive intelligent citizens continue. This time, according to ELAS, a new fake message is being spread online using the information of the head of the Greek police, Lt. Gen. Constantinos Koumas.
In particular, criminals who re-use this data try to deceive citizens – internet users – in a letter from competent audit authorities with the seals of the Greek Police and the Ministry of Civil Protection. By police or judicial authorities for alleged child pornography and other offences.
In fact, in an attempt to give “authenticity” to the corresponding letter, they use what appears to be a circular stamp with the signature of the head of the Hellenic Police, while the sender of the letter is said to be an email address. In this context, ELAS declares the following text – a message circulated via e-mail (e-mail), a letter from the President of ELAS, a letter bearing his name, as well as a stamp with a false signature and the inscription “Hellenic Republic – Greek Police” is obviously fake and fraudulent and clearly attempts to deceive. – Sent by criminals to mislead citizens.
ELAS citizens should not respond to and delete specific messages, as well as “open” attached files to avoid being infected by malicious software.
