US President Joe Biden accused Donald Trump, his potential opponent in the presidential elections scheduled for November, of sacrificing American democracy on the altar of power.
Biden's statements came in a speech he delivered in Pennsylvania, on the occasion of tomorrow, Saturday, the three-year anniversary of the January 6, 2021 attacks on the US Capitol.
Biden said the Trump campaign is “only focused on him, not America.” He also claimed that the former president was “willing to sacrifice our democracy” to gain power.
He added, “The upcoming elections are about whether democracy is still America's sacred issue.”
Biden: Trump is using the same language that was used in Nazi Germany
Biden also accused Trump of using “Nazi Germany” rhetoric.
He added: “He is talking about the poisoned blood of Americans, using the same language they used in Nazi Germany,” noting that Trump refuses to renounce political violence.
US President Joe Biden added, “Defending, protecting and preserving democracy will remain a fundamental goal of my presidency.”
