Buckingham Palace has released the first photograph of the Queen’s tomb where she is buried with her parents, Queen Elizabeth and King George VI, and her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
“A photo has been published today of the book stone now installed in the memorial to King George VI after the imprisonment of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. The memorial to King George VI is located within the walls of St George’s Chapel, Windsor,” a post on the royal family’s official Instagram account reads, among other things other.
Elizabeth’s name appears in gold lettering on the Belgian Black Stone slab. On the same plaque are written the names of George VI’s parents and Elizabeth, as well as her husband, Prince Philip. Separating the couple is a star of the Order of the Noble Lace of which the deceased was a member, and St George’s Chapel in Windsor is his spiritual home. It is noteworthy that in the same chapel is the tomb of Princess Margherita, who died in 2002 at the age of 71.
The royal tomb will open its doors to the public who wish to pay their respects from Thursday 29 September. The cost of a ticket on weekdays is 26.50 pounds, while the cost of a ticket on Saturdays is 28.50 pounds.
The Queen was buried alongside the Duke of Edinburgh on Monday night in a private ceremony attended by King Charles III and the royal family, which followed her state funeral at Westminster Abbey and transferred to Windsor Castle.
It is reported that when Prince Philip died, he was buried in the royal cemetery in Agios Georgios. Princess Margarita’s ashes were also placed in the same location, and then moved to the George VI monument, who passed away in 1952 at the age of 56.
