Bucks – Jazz 123-97: Outing without Middleton

50-38 points at bat, 9-2 points in surprise, 49-50 points off the bench, 22-9 points from opponent fouls, 21-14 points from second chances (offensive rebounds).

Race

With Brook Lopez getting three blocks in the first three minutes of the game (!) and Portis getting 10 points in the first five minutes, the Bucks entered the game in great shape (12-8). Milwaukee closed out 27-22 thanks to 15 from Bobby, with the Jazz still very close, but one from Beauchamp and one from Holiday falling within three possessions. 52-42 in the 20th minute was a score of 10-0 by the home team, 56-47 in the first half was not encouraging, but the double rebound (35-18) covered ten three-pointers for the visitors.

The picture of the match did not change at the beginning of the second half. Beasley, Markkanen and Oleynik kept the Jazz close, but Oleynik left midway through the third period with an injury. The Bucks were in control, Lopez did a great job scoring from near and far, at the end of the third quarter he had 18 points and eight rebounds, and despite the fact that Markkanen and Beasley had a lot, the Jazz didn’t. Seems capable of stealing victory.

Grayson Allen hit his first 3-pointer to make it 100-83 with 9:42 left in the final, and from that point on, things got out of control. Mamokilaashvili did it all, Beauchamp scored in bursts, AJ Green followed with perimeter shots, Thanasis stepped in and tested his apotheosis, and in the end everyone left the Vyserv Forum. Except for the Jazz who wanted to claim something more, but given the bottom line, they probably won’t feel comfortable with what they’ve accomplished in Milwaukee.
