Lille, Dinamo Zagreb and Bodo Glimt are closing in on the Champions League stars. The Frenchmen beat Slavia Prague 2-0 in the play-offs for the top club competition and will travel to the Czech Republic to extend their lead against Christos Zafiris’s side, who started for 75 minutes.
In the second half, Leloa did the job, opening the scoring in the 52nd minute with David and seeing Zegrova take the final 2-0 with a beautiful solo strike in the 77th minute.
Dinamo Zagreb won big, destroying Qarabag (3-0) in Croatia and will need to fall victim to… a miracle to avoid being in the new Champions League. Although the Azerbaijanis were the better side of the match, they wasted a lot of chances and were punished by Jakirovic’s team. Piazza opened the scoring for Dinamo in the 29th minute, while Kulenovic scored twice in the 75th and 80th minutes to secure a big win for his team.
Bodo Glimt also took a “low” but important lead. The Norwegians beat Red Star 2-1 in Norway, and go into the return match at the Maracana with the upper hand. Bjørtoft (52) and Mata (62) scored for the big Bodo team, while Memovic scored the equalizer for the Reds in the 75th minute after an assist from In-Bum Hwang.
