Chios: Died in the cabin of a passenger ship

A woman passenger was found unconscious on board a ship operating on the Chios – Piraeus route today.

She died in the cabin

The tragedy happened this morning (Monday 20/11) when the unfortunate woman – for unknown reasons – breathed her last on the liner. The crew was immediately informed and initiated all the recommended procedures to inform the authorities and provide first aid.

The crew administered first aid to the unfortunate passenger but could not revive him

In an effort not to waste precious time, the ship’s crew administered first aid to the female passenger, however, could not revive her, and a crew member then notified the Tzelepi Port Authority of the emergency so that the female passenger could be rushed to the hospital.

An autopsy will determine her cause of death

The woman was taken to the Elefsina “Triazio” General Hospital, where she was unfortunately pronounced dead, the reasons not being clarified.

An autopsy was ordered at the Forensic Service of Piraeus from the 1st Tzelepi Port Department of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which conducts the initial investigation.
