The four children rescued after a 40-day stay in the Colombian jungle from the hospital, where they are recovering, reveal that their mother survived for four days after the plane crash.
On the morning of May 1, the company’s plane Avianline Charters I took off from an area in the jungle known as Araraquara bound for San Jose del Guaviare, one of the largest cities in the Colombian Amazon.
Minutes after takeoff, the pilot reported engine failure and the aircraft subsequently disappeared from radar.
“My daughter told me her mother had been alive for four days,” their father, Manuel Miller, Ranoc Morales, told reporters. “Before you died, their mother said to them,” he said, “Come on, go and find your father.”
Soldiers found the wreckage on May 15. south of Kakita flat. The plane was installed vertically on the ground. The pilot was found dead in the cockpit. But the soldiers did not say where they found the other two dead adults, the children’s mother and the local chief.
According to information published in the newspapers, the children boarded the plane with their mother to escape the threats of the Farc branch, which rejects the historic peace agreement signed in 2016 with the rebel organization.
First words from babies to rescuers
“The eldest daughter, Leslie, holding the little one by the hand, ran up to me. I took her in my arms,” said Nicolas Ordones Gomez, one of the group members.I asked her where the boy is. She was lying on her side. After the first foreplay, I gave him some food, and he got up and told me, fully aware of what he was saying: “My mother is dead,” he continued.
“We said sweet words to them, that we are friends, that their people sent us, our father and our uncle sent us. How we were a family,” said Ordones Gómez. He answered me “I want farina and chorrito” (ssss a hot meal with ground cereal and sausage).
Another member of the group said, “Half an hour ago we found a turtle on the road.” “According to the beliefs of our ancestors, if you find a turtle, you can make a wish, and your wish will come true. “Find my children,” I said to her, even though we wanted to eat it afterwards. When we found the children, we gave them up, thinking of nothing but little ones.

Children in the military hospital
Four days have passed since their rescue and the four children are still in the military hospital in the capital, Bogota, where they were flown in.
According to relatives, they “talked little”, but revealed that their mother was alive for four days after the accident before finally succumbing to her injuries, according to their father, Manuel Miller Ranoc Morales, who said that the indigenous people “appeared in the world” what they are capable of on him.
