News of the progress of little Nikolas, a two-year-old boy who was involved in a fatal car accident in Heraklion, Crete on January 28, in which his 59-year-old grandmother tragically died and his mother was injured, is unwelcome.
Giorgos Salkiatakis, governor of the Heraklion University Hospital, told Crete 24 that from the brain test submitted to the two-year-old, there was no positive sign and the doctors' hope was “gone”. . The child's parents have already been informed about the undesirable development.
How the terrible car accident happened
A two-year-old boy was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Crete's northern road axis, shortly before Lykaria in Heraklion, from which his 59-year-old grandmother died.
It all happened around noon on Sunday, January 28, when two cars – due to bad weather conditions and a slippery road – crashed into each other at BOAK. EKAV ambulances were immediately called to the scene and a total of three people were injured – the 59-year-old driver, a two-year-old boy and his mother.
A few hours later the grandmother succumbed to her serious injuries, the 2-year-old boy suffered a severe brain injury and underwent surgery, but unfortunately he could not recover and the doctors' hope was “gone”. Only the child's mother survived the car crash with bone injuries.
