“Glizzard” reigns in the Democratic camp after Joe Biden’s controversial new appearance – in terms of its outcome – at a press conference on Thursday, which failed to ward off the negative impressions he created in the debate against Donald Trump but with it unanswerable mistakes in his live performances.
With growing calls from within the Democrats to replace the US president in the election race, the party is still debating whether to call for his retirement. It is ultimately an unprecedented decision that could have huge implications for the party itself and the course of the country.

Ro Khanna: “You have Trump with a hard-line agenda that includes Civil service layoffs, Restricting the right to abortion And Deportation of immigrantsThe party wants to make sure that the choice is presented with the greatest chance of winning.”
Both those who support Biden’s continued presence in the presidential race and those who call for his departure place Trump’s “threat” at the heart of their arguments. His refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election, which led to the storming of Capitol Hill, and his statements that he would act as a dictator for a day and lock up his opponents, raise concerns about democracy in the United States in the wake of the election.
After all, that’s what the handful of Democrats now publicly calling for Biden to withdraw are proposing. So far, 18 members of the House and Senate — out of a total of 213 members of Congress and 51 senators — have formally asked the president to withdraw from the race. The chairman of the House Democratic Caucus announced Friday, July 12, that he had met with President Biden to convey his colleagues’ thoughts, but he did not say what his reaction was or whether he had asked him to retire.
The concern of many Democratic House and Senate members that they will not be “left hanging” if they call for Biden’s withdrawal, along with a slew of high-profile officials who have yet to be publicly confirmed, is adding to the sense of a “meteoric” past for the Democrats. Despite the support the US president has so far enjoyed — at least publicly — from Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders and others, the window of opportunity for his party appears dangerously narrow. Trump is expected to take the floor at the Republican convention next week to formally get the word out, while it remains unclear in his opponents’ camp whether they will endorse Biden all the way.
