Domestic violence in Heraklion: The condition of a 36-year-old woman who was stabbed by her partner improved

A 36-year-old woman who suffered brutal domestic violence in Heraklion is out of danger.

The young woman, who was stabbed 14 times by her partner, continues to receive treatment at PAGNI Hospital, although she is believed to be out of danger and her condition is improving.

He sustained injuries on his chest, back and upper limbs from the repeated beatings he received.

After the attack, the 36-year-old, whose accomplice suffered a self-inflicted wound in the stomach, was arrested for attempted murder and is being treated in the hospital’s surgical ward. The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Deputy Director of Security of Heraklion.

With 14 blades

According to Credapost, it all happened when a couple got into a heated argument at their house in Koronis Makara area. At one point the 36-year-old took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his 36-year-old fiancee 14 times in the chest, back and upper limbs.

Two EKAV ambulances rushed to the scene, one carrying a seriously injured woman and the other a man who was not seriously injured and taken to hospital with a police escort.

At the same time the 36-year-old man started the fire, the neighbors succeeded in putting it out, thus not needing the help of the two fire department vehicles that arrived at the scene.

He went to the street and asked for help

The unfortunate woman ran out of the house covered in blood for help.

Neighbors heard the couple’s fight and informed the authorities.

The 36-year-old underwent a lengthy operation and was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit.

At the same time, the 36-year-old was hospitalized under guard and faces charges of attempted murder and domestic violence.

Police notification

“A 36-year-old citizen was arrested in Heraklion yesterday evening (06.04.2023) by police officers of the two-wheeled police team of the Immediate Action Department of Heraklion, accused of attempted murder and violation of domestic law. Violence, at the expense of a 36-year-old citizen.

In particular, yesterday evening (04.06.2023), a 36-year-old man attacked and injured a 36-year-old woman with a sharp object (knife) in Heraklion municipality. She inflicts physical injuries on her chest, back and upper limbs, and injures herself while using the same sharp object.

Police officers from the above service immediately arrived and administered first aid to the patient, who was taken from the ambulance station to the on-call hospital.

A preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Deputy Director of Security of Heraklion, while the accused has been remanded in hospital.
