Twelve people were injured on board a Qatar Airways plane. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner they were on board encountered turbulence while flying over Türkiye. The result was that six crew members and six passengers were injured.
They were informed at Dublin Airport and all necessary measures were taken. Thus, immediately after the plane landed, first aid was provided to the wounded, without knowing their condition.
What happened
Graeme McQueen, media relations director at DA, the management company for Dublin Airport, told Sky News: “Qatar Airways flight QR107 from Doha landed safely as scheduled at Dublin Airport just before 1pm on Sunday.
“Upon landing, the aircraft underwent emergency services, including airport police and the fire and rescue department, with six passengers and six crew members (12 in total) on board reporting injuries after the aircraft experienced turbulence while in the air over Turkey.
“The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full ground assistance to passengers and airline staff.”
Earlier this week, in a separate incident, a British man died on board a Singapore Airlines flight after experiencing severe turbulence on a Heathrow-Singapore flight.
