Losing only one game in the match against Tomas Martin Echeverri, Stefanos Tsitsipas with a 6-1, 6-0 victory secured a ticket to the round of 16 of the tournament in Monte Carlo.
After defeating Laszlo Dzire, Stefanos Tsitsipas dominated the Tomas Martin Echeverri Stadium and, within an hour and two minutes, qualified for the round of 16 of the tournament in Monte Carlos with a score of 6-1 and 6-0.
The break… woke up Tsitsipas
The match did not start in the best way for Stefanos Tsitsipas, as Echeverri broke his serve in the first game of the match. Naturally, this was the only match he won in the group, as Tsitsipas was furious afterwards.
The Greek broke his serve (1-1), and advanced with his serve (2-1). Then the No. 12 in the world made another break, gaining three away matches while maintaining stability in the fifth game (4-1). Another break followed, and with balls in hand, the 25-year-old won the first set in no time.
Bread and qualify for “16”
Stefanos Tsitsipas did not lose his pace at all in the second set. He started off perfectly by breaking his opponent's serve, which he held in his first service game of the second set.
The match turned into a one-man show, with Stefanos Tsitsipas doing his thing on the court and taking one game after another. In a short time, the Greek took a 5-0 lead, and with his serve in the sixth game, he “clinched” the set and won the victory with a cake (6-0).
In the next stage, he will face Greek Alexander Zverev for a ticket to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.
