Emergency severe weather report for heat wave – which areas will record 43 days

The EMY has continued its update of the emergency weather report for worsening heat wave sweeping the country till Friday.

More specifically, the south-west current prevailing at the lower levels of the atmosphere in Africa and the central Mediterranean coast will bring warm air masses to our region and cause very high temperatures in our country, which will be maintained at least until Friday. / 7.

The highest temperatures occur in the interior of mainland Greece (mainly in the west and north) and in the eastern Aegean islands.

The maximum temperature value is lower by 2 to 4 degrees due to the sea breeze in the coastal areas of the mainland.

Minimum temperatures will vary greatly, especially from Monday 7/15.

Today is Sunday (14-7-2024) High temperatures will prevail mainly over western, northern, eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Maximum temperature reaches:

A. In Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus their 38 to 40 degrees and
Inland in Central Macedonia their 41 to 42 degrees Celsius.
B. 40 to 42°C in western Styria, Thessaly and western Peloponnese.
c. Eastern Styria and Eastern Peloponnese in their 40s and
41 degrees Celsius locally.
d. Ionian, East Aegean Islands, Dodecanese and Southern Crete, 36 to 38°C.
e In other parts of the island country, 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
f. In Attica their 38 to 39 degrees Celsius.

on Monday (15-7-2024) Maximum Temperature Reached:

A. 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus, and 41 to 42 degrees Celsius inland in Central Macedonia.
B. 41 to 42 degrees Celsius in western Styria, Thessaly and western Peloponnese.
c. 40 to 41°C in eastern Styria and eastern Peloponnese.

B. 41 to 42 in western Styria, Thessaly and western Peloponnese and 43 degrees Celsius inland.
c. Eastern Styria and Eastern Peloponnese 40 to 42
degrees Celsius.
d. Ionian, East Aegean Islands, Dodecanese and Southern Crete, 38 to 40°C.
e In other parts of the island country, 34 to 37 degrees Celsius.
f. In Attica their 38 to 39 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday (17-7-2024) and on Thursday (18-7-2024) the maximum temperature is predicted to reach:

A. 42 to 43 degrees Celsius in western, central and northern interior.
B. In the Ionian, the eastern Aegean islands, the Dodecanese and southern Crete range from 39 to 41 °C.
c. In other parts of the island country, 35 to 38 degrees Celsius.
d. 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in Attica.
