Eva Kaili: MEP under investigation for corruption – Expelled from PASOK-KENAL

The Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office announced that those arrested today in Brussels in the framework of an investigation conducted by an economic judge on suspicion of bribery from a “Gulf country”, within the European Parliament.

The name of the country was not mentioned by the prosecution. According to Le Soir newspaper, Qatari officials attempted to bribe an elected Italian socialist who was a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2019. The investigation concerns, among other things, acts of “corruption” and “money laundering” in the context of an organized gang, according to the prosecutor’s press release.

For months, Belgian investigators have suspected that a Gulf state influences the financial and political decisions of the European Parliament by paying large sums of money or making large gifts to third parties with an important political position and/or strategic position within that body.

The PASOK-KENAL declaration read: “Following the recent developments and the investigation by the Belgian authorities into the corruption of European officials, MP Eva Kaili was removed from the PASOK-Movement for Change party by decision of President Nikos Androulakis.”

According to information from Belgium, Eva Kylie is currently being questioned.

So far it has not been expelled from the European Community of Socialists, but it might be if something was found against it.

Cross-examination of Eva Kylie, while she is in a special immunity because she is an MEP, seems to show that there is evidence of her existence as well.

Finally, it should be noted that her partner’s office has already been closed by the Belgian authorities.
