The deadline for filing personal and corporate income tax returns for 2022 has been extended by one month, to August 31. However, by the same date (August 31), the first two of the eight installments must be paid to pay the tax. Whereas, the 3% discount is still only valid for those who pay the tax in one payment by July 31. For companies that keep simple books, income tax is paid in six monthly installments beginning in September.

This amendment provides for the amendment of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, which is presented during the day to the House of Representatives in the draft law “Enhancing the Income of Employees, Youth, Family and Work – Retirement Arrangements”.

With the same amendment, the shares of EYDAP and EYATH owned by Superfund were returned to the state.

At the same time, among other things, the Athens International Airport listing system is being regulated on the stock exchange, a framework has been put in place to support workers in businesses affected by fires which will apply from this year also to those already affected by the July fires, and buildings classified as dangerous due to these fires have been exempted from ENFIA for three years.

In particular, including the extension, with the provisions of the amendment:

– It is planned to transfer all shares owned by Hellenic Holdings and Property Company (HESP) to the state in EYDAP and EYATH. This system was drawn up in accordance with the relevant decision of the State Council plenary session (190/2022), but also in implementation of the relevant pre-election commitments of the government. After the transfer, the shareholders’ rights are exercised jointly by the Ministries of Finance, Environment and Energy.

– The corporate governance framework is being organized for the listing of Athens International Airport (El. Venizelos) shares on the main market of the Stock Exchange. The purpose of this provision is, among other things, to strengthen the Greek capital market and attract investors. The ruling also states that after offering shares, E.ESY.P. He will exercise the rights of the shareholders in full and appoint the members of the board of directors of the company. It also specifies the timely preparation process for awarding airport management after the current contract expires (in 2046).

The possibility of suspending work contracts for workers in companies affected by fires or other natural disasters for a period of up to three months, starting from the July 17 fires. During this time, employees from the budget will receive compensation in the amount of 534 euros per month and will be provided with full insurance coverage. For the payment of compensation, responsible declarations must be submitted by companies to PS ERGANI and by employees to the online platform supportemployees.services.gov.gr.

Also, during the period of suspension, layoffs are not allowed and any termination of employment contracts is void, while after the suspension ends, companies are required to maintain the same number of jobs for a period equal to the period of suspension.

Exempt for three years (2023, 2024 and 2025) from ENFIA are buildings in areas affected by the July fires, which are marked as dangerous or unfit for use.

– In implementation of a relevant decision of the European Court, the postal services exemption from VAT will henceforth apply to the universal service. On the other hand, the exemption will not apply to the provision of services whose prices and conditions resulted from individual negotiations, a commercial agreement, a special offer in the course of competitive procedures, or other types of assignments to the universal service provider.
