Opera GX, one of the best browsers especially if you’re a gamer, is going ahead with adding a new “panic button” that protects you from… prying eyes.
It’s designed to quickly pause playback from all tabs and move to a new window of safe content during an unexpected login or when your boss catches you watching Twitch when you’re “stuck” in Excel.
You can activate it by pressing the F12 button
The new function can be activated using the F12 key thus retaining a function key that no one (except developers) currently uses.
To activate the panic button
Opera therefore lets you select a site to set as a safe tab, with pre-installed options for YouTube, Twitch, and Wikipedia.
For the panic button to work, you must enable the “early flight” option in your Opera GX browser settings. It’s part of the latest update (Level 5) for Opera GX which also includes the Guest Tabs feature and improvements to Twitch connections.
The browser has a built-in ad blocking function, VPN, accepts extensions, has protection against phishing and malware, supports syncing bookmarks and adding shortcuts to the home page, etc. It also has spell checking in Greek and many other languages as well as developer tools.
