Finally, Windows 11 24H2 update significantly boosts AMD Ryzen – Windows 11 performance

A significant performance increase of up to 11% has been observed on AMD Ryzen CPUs after installing the upcoming Windows 11 24H2 upgrade.

According to the tests he conducted Devices are not packedBoth the new Ryzen 9000 series processors and the older 7000 series processors benefit from the new version of Microsoft’s operating system, AMD has promised.

Specifically, the tests showed that the Zen 4-based Ryzen 7 7700X showed an average 10% improvement in various games at 1080p. The newer Zen 5-based Ryzen 7 9700X saw an even bigger improvement, reaching an average 11% improvement in the same tests.

the KitjuroAnother reputable tech site, , confirmed these results by running similar tests on the Ryzen 7800X3D, AMD’s flagship gaming processor. The tests showed corresponding improvements in some games, while positive results were also observed for the older Ryzen 9 7950X.

The news comes just weeks after the launch of AMD’s Zen 5 processors, which failed to impress in early reviews. Many analysts saw the previous-generation Ryzen 9 7950X as offering better value for money than the new flagship Ryzen 9 9950X, especially in the gaming segment.

While the Windows 11 24H2 upgrade will significantly improve the performance of the new Zen 5 processors, the fact that it also positively impacts the older Zen 4 means that the performance difference between the two architectures remains less than expected. However, for Ryzen processor owners, this upgrade comes as a pleasant surprise as it essentially provides a free performance boost to their systems.

Microsoft is expected to officially release the 24H2 upgrade for Windows 11 at the end of September. But through an optional Windows update, users of these processors can improve their PC’s gaming performance starting today. An AMD representative stated: “We want to inform you that the improvement found in Windows 11 24H2 has now been carried over to Windows 11 23H2. Users should look for the update KB5041587 In the Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates section. We expect the performance increase to be similar between 24H2 and 23H2 with KB5041587 installed.”
