Since March 2018, after the famous “Batterygate” scandal, Apple has added to iPhones a very useful function, Battery Health. In particular, starting with iOS 11.3, iPhone owners can see at a glance the battery status of their device and whether it has degraded due to charging and use. Now, finally, and Google Come to do something similar to Android.
Going into details, the company recently made QPR1 (Quarterly Platform Release) available. Android 14. This new version added a battery related statistic. especially, The operating system now reports the number of charging cycles performed by the user.
As Android expert Mishal Rahman reported, Google has put the appropriate option in About phone > Battery information From settings. There, the user will now be able to know the manufacturing date of his phone’s battery. Unfortunately, this page does not include details about the general health of the battery, as is the case with iPhones, i.e. what is the estimated capacity remaining of the battery when it is fully charged versus its rated capacity.
At the same time, it is also worth noting that this feature will not be available for all Android smartphones, but it will definitely be present from now on in Google’s Pixel phone.
Android now shows battery information in Settings! You can now go to Settings > About phone > Battery information to see the manufacturing date and battery life cycle of your device. However, not every device will report this information.

While knowing how many charging cycles one has on a battery is very useful as it indicates its health, Google still has to do some work to clarify the battery stats reported in Android. But it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
