However, it is rumored that this feature will return this year, at least on the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, marking its official return after a two-year hiatus. With the countdown to the arrival of the Galaxy Watch 6 along with the other model, the Classic, a new leak leaves nothing to the imagination.
Starting with Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, acquired and published by winfuture The wearable was presented in only two colors – black and silver. However, the site expects Samsung to release additional color variants in the weeks and months following the launch to add more interest to the launch.
The rotating bezel is clearly visible in these images, which is expected to be narrower than it was on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro’s home and back buttons have been retained, but there’s now a prominent bump between the two physical buttons, a change in the main design from before, which provides empty space between the two buttons.
Winfuture speculates that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in 43mm and 47mm versions. Additionally, the new smartwatch will reportedly be available with a leather strap at launch, which sets it apart from the cheaper Galaxy Watch 6 model.
For the entry-level Galaxy Watch 6, Winfuture reveals three distinct color variants of the wearable, with a gold/beige version joining the silver and black colors. The two side buttons are back from the Galaxy Watch 5, though there are no visual changes we can detect yet. Both the Galaxy Watch 6 and its sibling will support 5ATM water resistance, according to Winfuture.
According to the well-known Twitter account Ice Universe, which has reliable information on technology products, Samsung can supply the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic with a larger 1.47-inch screen, while also raising the resolution to match the upgrade screen size. The Exynos W980 SoC is also rumored to be integrated as a new SoC in the two wearables, which could allow for a 10% performance increase compared to the dual-core Exynos W920 in the Galaxy Watch 5.
The two new smartwatches will debut during Samsung’s Unpacked event next month. While the dates are yet to be confirmed, the company is likely to schedule it for the end of July. However, we do know that this year’s Unpacked will be held in Seoul, South Korea, which is a first for the electronics giant. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are expected to headline the event, powered by two new Galaxy Watch 6 watches and possibly the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
