Who is the top Kung Fu Federation official who allegedly played a key role in the compensation counterfeiting ring – how it was revealed
Fake certificates, distinguished in official kung fu competitions, were guaranteed a round of national exams for candidates to be included in the Ministry of Education’s special list of sportsmen and gain beneficial points.
Depending on the case, the circuit asked for between 3,500 and 7,000 euros for each forgery and certificate issued.
Along the same lines, he also issued certificates to Kung Fu athletes/trainers to improve training standards.
Head of Technical Committee
The 47-year-old head of the Kung Fu Federation’s technical committee is said to have played a key role in the circuit.
Among the defendants are two coaches of the federation who played an intermediary role between the interested parties and the 47-year-olds, while the case file includes the parents of a student who submitted a false certificate to the ministry’s competent committee. Education.
Specifically, five persons aged 47, 49, 39, 48 and 53 were identified and charged, the first three being members of the ring and the last two being the parents of the student.
According to the information, the certificates contained the signatures of the former president and general secretary of the Kungfu Federation and this role is also being investigated, but nothing has come against them so far, that is, if they knew that the competition papers. The certificate is forged and signed. However, the investigation continues.
Notably, the Kung Fu Federation’s board of directors changed after the election on May 14, with technical committee members and 47-year-olds removed from the federation’s website since early May.
Condemnation and exposure to the circuit
According to reports, it all started last November when the European Kung Fu Championship was held in Loutraki.
Later one of the two arrested coaches approached the parents of one of his athletes and suggested that his son take 2nd place in the European Championship and recommend that he appear on paper without participating in a particular category.
Then the 47-year-old head of the federation’s technical team appeared to the parents and asked for 3,500 euros to continue the process.
However, the parents informed the police and after a tip he met the 47-year-old at a cafe and was promptly arrested for receiving the money.
They don’t have time to use certificates
A subsequent police investigation found that 18 match sheets had been falsified in the same process, involving 30 student/athletes and 4 coaches to motivate the athletes to improve their training status.
However, as ELAS has noted, the intended objective has not been achieved in any of the above cases, as it concerns the benefits of students participating in the Pan-Hellenic exams for the 2022-2023 academic year, which have not yet been completed.
The case file will be submitted to Athens’ criminal prosecutor, while the investigation into their involvement in other cases continues.
