  • Visit https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords to create an app password. Create a name for the password — we used Bulk Email Transfer — and press the “Generate” button.
  • A pop-up window will appear with your new 16-digit password. Important: Google will only show your app password once. After you create it, be sure to register it another way.

4. Use the application password

  • Once you’ve created an app password, go back to step 2 of the instructions above and use your new app password instead of your regular password.
  • Google’s Help Center states that “app passwords are not recommended and are unnecessary in most cases.” So, once you’ve finished moving your messages to Gmail, we recommend deleting the app password.

What happens after I sync my Gmail accounts?

Once you’ve successfully linked your new Gmail archive account to your original account, your emails should start transferring automatically. The process may take several hours or days, depending on how many emails you have.
