At the time, Nearby Sharing was one of the features promised to launch for Microsoft’s desktop operating system.
Recently, the tech giant Provided a trial version (Beta) of the Nearby Share app for Windows, which makes it easy to transfer files between mobile and PC. Anyone who wants can download the Nearby Sharing app From the Android siteas long as the computer is “running” the 64-bit version of Windows 10 or later OS for systems with x86-64 processors (not compatible with Windows systems with an ARM processor).
in order to work Nearby Sharing requires WiFi and Bluetooth to be activated on your computer. To prevent spam, you can choose who can “see” your device and send you files. Under the device visibility setting drop-down menu, you can choose to make your computer visible to everyone, only your contacts, only your nearby devices, or no one at the moment.
Unless you choose the latter setting, your computer will be able to share files with Android devices regardless of whether the app is active or running in the background. To share files from your computer to your Android phone, all you need to do is drag and drop them into the Nearby Sharing app. Otherwise, you can right-click the file or files and select Nearby Share from the menu. If you own both devices and are signed in with the same Google account, transfers will be accepted automatically even if the recipient screen is turned off. Just keep in mind that both devices need to be within 5 meters or so of each other. Based on our own testing, the whole process is pretty easy, but without the speeds we see in Apple’s Airdrop, which means Wi-Fi Direct probably isn’t being used. This is only guaranteed by Intel’s Unison technology, which is gradually appearing in compatible systems.
Nearby Share is available to users in the United States and many other countries that do not currently include Greece. But you can download the app from Official webpage Using a VPN or directly from here. Also note that while the beta version of the app currently only works with Android smartphones and tablets for now, the company is expected to expand its compatibility with the rest of its ecosystem as well.
