Google: Poke fun at Apple for first USB-C iPhone with new Pixel 8 teaser
Google will unveil the new Pixel 8 smartphone on October 4 and has released a new video as a teaser for the big event. Except the teaser in question is dedicated to Apple and its forced rollback of EU requirements for mobile devices to only charge via USB-C. Hence, Apple is expected to soon announce the first iPhone with a USB-C port, with its own event on September 12.
The video released by Google is part of the #BestPhonesForever series on YouTube and shows the iPhone and Pixel at a spa. iPhone tells Pixel it’s gearing up for a very big reveal for its event, the size of which will be on par with the first showing of the Slide-to-Unlock feature, 16 years ago. Once the Pixel realizes this is a replacement for the Lightning port, it surprisingly asks the iPhone “Will you finally charge with USB-C?” What is certain is that this kind of harassment between Apple and Google will never stop.
