The strategic role of Southeast Europe at the global level in terms of connectivity between the countries of the region is the main theme of the international conference, the Southeast European Connectivity Forum (SECF), which will be held in Thessaloniki, from 31 October to 1 November. , 2023 under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the Hellenic Logistics Company and the Exporters Association.
Leading speakers will discuss the prospects for connectivity in South-Eastern Europe, especially regarding the role of Greece, and specifically Thessaloniki, as a development and communication hub for the wider region.
In this context, the issue of railways, which constitutes a major challenge in our country, will be presented, as well as development strategies and a plan to modernize the railway network. Special mention will be made of Corridor
Developments in this regard will be developed by Ioana Tsiaparikou, Chairman of the Railway Regulatory Authority, Panagiotis Christelis, Director of VTG Rail Logistics Hellas and Christos Dionellis, Special Advisor for Transport Projects at “Samaras & Associates SA – Consulting Engineers”. The conference will also be attended by Christos Stikouras, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Asen Vasiliev, Bulgarian Minister of Finance, Georgi Gvozdikov, Bulgarian Minister of Transport and Communications, and Hristo Alexiev, Economic Advisor to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
