Adrian Griffin’s dispute with Giannis Antetokounmpo midway through the third period of the Celtics-Bucks match left a good impression.
They didn’t start the season the way they wanted to, but before the game against the Celtics, they had reeled off five straight wins and were in a good mood. The Bucks are trying to build new habits with a new coach and playmaker, but early Thursday (11/23) there was one moment that did not go unnoticed inside TD Garden and those watching the game. Milwaukee vs. Boston.
Midway through the third period, Adrian Griffin removed Antetokounmpo from the game, which led to an altercation between them. Giannis remained in the front office and eventually returned to the floor seconds later, with on-court reporters claiming that Bucks coach Bobby Portis had to push Bobby Portis into the game because he saw Antetokounmpo’s discomfort and hesitated to replace him.
Finally, after the end of the game, Griffin admitted to reporters that the tension arose because of Giannis’ desire to stay in the game.
