Heart Surgeon Reveals The 4 Things He ‘Totally Avoids’ In His Life

An English heart surgeon shares information about heart attacks, the four things he “absolutely avoids” in order to stay healthy.

Heart and circulatory diseases cause a quarter of deaths in the UK, according to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

This alarming statistic means that there are “more than 170,000 deaths each year” because of it.

The BHF explains that “Coronary artery disease (CHD – also known as ischaemic heart disease) is the most common type of heart disease.”

“It is the most common cause of heart attacks and was the biggest killer of both men and women worldwide.”

Evaluating preventive measures taken, cardiac surgeon Dr. Jeremy E. London shared the four things he regularly avoids.

Smoking is “the worst thing you can do to your whole body,” says the doctor.

«[Καταστρέφει] Your lungs, lung cancer, increased cardiovascular risk, heart attacks and strokes. “Don’t smoke,” he said in a recent TikTok video.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the UK.

alcohol consumption

Dr. London says he has completely given up alcohol and has no regrets.

“Alcohol. I’m sorry to break it to you, it’s toxic. Toxic to every cell in your body.

Your body, your rules, you decide for yourself.

“For me personally, cutting alcohol out of my life was probably one of the most transformative decisions I’ve made as an adult.

“All the cool kids do it. Try it.”

The Office for National Statistics figures show that in 2022, the number of alcohol-related deaths in England and Wales will reach an all-time high of 7,423.

Soft drink consumption

Harvard Health reports that people who drink more than five sugary drinks a week may be more likely to show signs of early heart disease than people who drink just one.

Avoid bread and pasta.

Finally, the heart surgeon says: Number four, avoid bread and pasta. Avoid refined flour and grains. 80% of weight control is diet. 20% is exercise.

“I guarantee you’ll be able to conquer any workout you do. So be mindful about what you eat.”

A common cause of heart attacks is high blood pressure, which is unfortunately more pronounced in people who are obese.
