Since yesterday (21.7.2023), a new heat wave has been felt across the region, and the second heat wave is continuing.

According to the updated Emergency Bulletin of Endangered Weather Events (EDEKF) issued yesterday by the National Meteorological Service (EMY) for heat wave till 23-7-2023, a fresh heat wave will be felt across the country, while a temporary withdrawal of extremely high temperatures is expected on Monday 24-7-2023.

b) Third heat wave is expected from Tuesday 25-7-2023 to Thursday 27-7-2023.

More specifically:

Today, Saturday July 23, temperatures are forecast to rise slightly. Maximum values ​​reach:

A. 39 to 41 degrees Celsius in Epirus and Macedonia and 42 degrees Celsius in Central Macedonia

B. 42 to 43 degrees Celsius in Thessaly, Central Greece and the Peloponnese and 44 degrees Celsius in Thessaly and Eastern Styria.

c. In the Ionian Islands, the Dodecanese and Crete, 40 to 42 degrees Celsius

d. 39 to 41 degrees Celsius in Thrace and the rest of the island country.

Maximum prices will reach on Sunday 23-7-2023:

A. 41 to 43 degrees Celsius in continental areas and 44 degrees Celsius in central Greece and the Peloponnese and 45 degrees Celsius in the interior of Thessaly.

B. 39 to 41 degrees Celsius in their island country.

On Monday 7/24/2023, temperatures are forecast to drop by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, with the biggest drop in the eastern part of the country and the smallest drop in the western part.

Maximum values ​​reach:

A. 38 to 40 °C in continental areas and 41 to 42 °C in places in central Greece and the Peloponnese.

As per all forecast data available from Tuesday 25-7-2023 to Thursday 27-7-2023 again very high temperature is expected in our country. On Friday 28-7-2023 very high temperatures will be maintained in central and southern countries, while a significant drop is expected in northern Greece.
