We have confirmed that the Magic V2 will be released on the European market, but when and at what price remains unanswered, while it is certain that we will not see it (officially) in our country. The new Honor Magic V2 is one of the thinnest foldable devices in its class with a thickness of only 9.9 mm when folded and only 4.7 mm when unfolded. Although folded it has almost twice the usable screen area of a standard mobile phone, it weighs just 231 grams. Making it one of the lightest in its category.
The device is based on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor (4 nm, Adreno 740 graphics) and has 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage space, depending on the version. Inside the Honor Magic V2 there is also a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging while there are no missing features like NFC, stereo speakers, IR or fingerprint reader.
The new folding mechanism also makes the “crease” on the inner screen almost invisible and imperceptible, greatly improving the user experience. Regarding the technical specifications, the device has two screens, an external one measuring 6.43 inches and an internal one measuring 7.92 inches. The latter is of the LTPO OLED type and supports a resolution of 2156 x 2344 pixels with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a brightness of up to 1600 nits and HDR 10+ technology.
As for the second external screen, it uses LTPO OLED technology and has a diameter of 6.43 inches, with support for a resolution of 2376 x 1066 pixels and the same refresh rate (up to 120 Hz). Naturally, it also supports HDR10+. It should be noted that both displays support the stylus (for processing, handwritten notes, drawing, sketching, etc.). The device also supports the PWM dimming feature at a rate of 3,840 Hz so that the eyes do not get tired after long hours of use and for smoother image movement. The main screen, on the right side, has a 16-megapixel (f/2.2) camera for taking selfies, housed in a small punch-hole. There is also another similar camera on the external secondary display.
Aside from the two selfie cameras, there is a triple camera system on the back of the device consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.9, with PDAF and OIS), and a 50-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens system (f/2.0, PDAF) and a 20MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, PDAF and OIS with 2.5x zoom support).
