Huawei CEO Spotted With Tri-Fold Smartphone Prototype – Huawei

An image posted on Chinese social media site Weibo reveals the prototype of a new and innovative smartphone from Huawei.

In the photo, Richard Yu, CEO of the company’s consumer products division, is seen holding a device with three distinct display sections, a nod to the tri-fold design.

The image, taken on a plane, shows a device with a large display that appears to fold into a ā€œZā€ or ā€œNā€ shape. The placement of the front camera on the farthest part of the display suggests a unique design that differs from current Huawei models like the Mate XS 2.

Although the device appears quite thick in the photo, this could be due to the protective case that is often used in prototypes to cover the final design. The appearance of this prototype in a public place indicates that the product development has reached an advanced stage.

According to information circulating on Weibo, the price of this innovative smartphone is expected to be high, with estimates indicating that it is around $ 2,780. If this price holds, it will be similar to the price of the original Huawei Mate X, the company’s first foldable phone.

In a recent interview, Richard Yu revealed that the development of this device took five years. The company is targeting a launch before the end of the year, with September listed as a possible launch month. If this timeline is confirmed, Huawei’s new model will be required to compete for public attention with Apple’s iPhone 16 series.

The emergence of this prototype is likely to mark a new stage in the evolution of foldable smartphones, as Huawei continues to innovate in the field of mobile device design despite the challenges it faces in international markets. The tri-fold design could bring new possibilities for use and redefine the concept of portability in a smartphone.
