The ministry indicated that it is monitoring the global epidemiological situation associated with this infection, the sources and causes of which have not yet been identified, within the framework of the international health vigilance system at the National Center for Public Health Emergencies. Currently, the national epidemiological surveillance system in Morocco has not recorded any change in the level of the usual number of hepatitis cases, the ministry said, adding that no cases similar to those mentioned above have been detected.
It should be noted that on 5 April 2022, the World Health Organization was notified of cases of acute idiopathic hepatitis in children under the age of 10 in the UK. Other cases were tracked in Europe and North America. For its part, the Moroccan Ministry of Health indicated that, based on the information and data currently available, the World Health Organization calls on all countries to monitor and report possible cases, in addition to conducting a comprehensive epidemiological investigation.
