To: Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Theodoros Skilakakis
Subject: Extending the deadline for the “Save 2023” programme.
The “Excoionamo 2023” program is a residential energy upgrade programme, a continuation of the “Ecoconomisi kat Oikon”, “Ecoconomio Autonomo” and “Ecoconomio 2021”, with a total budget of €300 million. The program consists of providing incentives for energy-saving interventions in the local construction sector, with the aim of reducing energy needs and consumption of conventional fuels, in the context of the transition to the “energy-efficient home”. Submission of applications began on June 12, 2023 and ends on September 15, 2023.
And in view of the great disasters that many states of the country have witnessed recently, whether from fires or floods, on the other hand, the deadline for submitting applications coincided with the special circumstances of this year’s summer season, which, as you know, was a large part of the population (and those who work in public services local officials responsible for issuing supporting documents) are on leave because of the holidays, but also because of the unprecedented heat wave that lasted for several days in July, with all that that means in terms of data collection times the necessary supporting documents, The competent minister is asked:
What actions do you intend to take regarding extending the application deadline beyond September 15, 2023, so that more citizens have the opportunity to participate in the programme?
