Instagram: With this hidden setting you can read messages without anyone seeing them

Many times it may happen that for various reasons you would like to read the message you received InstagramBut without letting the sender know that you actually read it. The solution that various users resort to is to read the message from the device notifications. However, this is not always as effective, especially for long or busy messages, as the notification displays a preview of limited length.

Instagram, although many people don't know it, has been offering an option for some time that solves exactly this problem. It turns off read receipts so you can read all the messages they send you, usually from within the app, without notifying the other user.

In fact, there's no indication that you've read the message unless you continue the conversation and reply.

The so-called “read receipts” can be deactivated in the following way:

1. Go to Account and open the options menu from the top right corner.
2. Open Settings
3. Select the “Replies to messages and stories” section.
4. Select the “Show Delivery Reports” section.
5. Turn the option on or off depending on whether you want to show that you are reading messages or not.
