A few weeks ago Google Introduced brand new Pixel 8 Its smart phones, with the aim of competing with iPhone 15 Ha apple. Google’s offerings, despite performing admirably in areas like the camera, seem to lag a bit in performance. In particular, a new benchmark speed test from YouTube channel PhoneBuff revealed that despite the Pixel 8 Pro having 50% more RAM and an all-new Tensor G3 processor, it lags significantly behind the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with a powerful A17 Pro processor, 8GB of RAM, NVME storage, and the new iOS 17 operating system. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, has 12GB of RAM, uses slightly slower UFS 3.1 storage, and runs Android 14 out of the box.
Moving on to the comparisons, the first results from the Geekbench benchmark previously showed the iPhone outperforming. Now, PhoneBuff testing confirms this difference in practice. The iPhone 15 Pro Max was able to complete the middle test set, which includes many daily applications, In 2 minutes and 48 secondsWhile the Pixel 8 Pro took much longer to complete the same test In 3 minutes and 28 seconds. The iPhone 15 Pro Max particularly took the lead in video processing and app responsiveness.
For the record, this is not the first time that the Google Pixel has fallen behind in the PhoneBuff speed test, since e.g.When the Pixel doesn’t beat the corresponding iPhone this year. Those interested can view the detailed results in the following video.
