This is the oldest cat in Britain – she is 32 years old and loves to eat and sleep
A cat that has been in the care of a British pensioner since 1991 is set to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest British cat.
The cat, Rosie, celebrated her 32nd birthday on June 1, and according to 72-year-old Leila Brissett, she’s oozing with life. Until now, the record was “owned” by another cat from Britain – specifically from Kent – Flossie, 27.
She has only been to the vet twice in her life. Once at a spay in the ’90s and five years ago to get antibiotics for a cyst on her head,” her guardian said.
Mostly enjoying it “eat and sleep” This time, adding that it is “awesome”. When asked how she managed to live for so long, she replied “maybe good food plays a role” adding that all of her animals in her care live for many years.
The pensioner took her home 22 years ago when a family didn’t want her because their child had an allergy to her fur.
However, the oldest cat ever recorded was Creme Puff, from Austin, Texas. Cream Puff was born on August 3, 1967 and lived 38 years and 3 days.
