Special Charge d’Affairs Cai noted that the Chinese government has been and will continue to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians through the United Nations and through bilateral channels in order to alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
He added that Beijing is ready to do “anything” that can promote dialogue, declare a ceasefire and resume negotiations to achieve a two-state solution, according to Chinese state television network CCTV, as reported by APE.
Joint Declaration of Western Countries
Earlier, the leaders of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Canada affirmed their support for Israel and its right to defend itself against terrorism, but “called for adherence to international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians.” This was in a joint statement they issued after their phone conversation.
