Veronica Antetokounmpo gave an interview to Downtown Magazine. During the interview, the mother of the Antetokounmpo brothers also talked about the difficulties she faced when she decided to come to Greece.
How did you decide to come to Greece? Was it a difficult decision?
Leaving Nigeria was a decision made in search of better prospects, but it was a very difficult one.
How did you manage the difficulties? What is the secret to creating such a beautiful family?
It was all hard, tough and scary. I did it with love, faith in God, humility, care and affection. I never give up when I have my beautiful family with me!
What is the biggest difficulty you remember leaving Nigeria behind?
It must have been very difficult to leave my family, and most importantly Francis, in Nigeria. It was not easy to get to Greece, and I could not take the child with me and fight, it was difficult.
How difficult is it to raise your children in a foreign country?
It was very difficult for me to raise my children in a country where I did not speak or understand the language. In a country where I did not have a residence permit.
