Jimmy Kimmel announced in a social media post that his son Billy underwent his third open-heart surgery.

On Monday, Jimmy Kimmel shared a photo with his Instagram followers of his 7-year-old son and his wife from their hospital bed after surgery. Billy was born in 2017 and suffers from a serious heart problem, and the broadcaster revealed this His son had to undergo open heart surgery just three days after his birth.

He explained that Billy had a hole in the wall of the left and right side of his heart. However, Jimmy Kimmel wrote in his latest post that after the third surgery, his son came out with a new valve. “This weekend, our son Billy had his third open heart surgery. “We entered this experience with a lot of optimism and the same amount of fear, and we came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy child,” he wrote, while thanking the doctors for their “kindness and invaluable experience.”

He added: “Walking around this hospital and meeting the most vulnerable parents, the children in pain, and the doctors doing everything in their power to save them is an experience that highlights the humility we must have.” Jimmy Kimmel then praised Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and how it helps families in need. He also thanked those who took time to pray and send positive energy to his son, his wife, and his son, Billy, who is “the toughest, funniest 7-year-old” they know.

Billy had a second heart surgery when he was 7 months old in December 2017. Since the birth of his son, Jimmy Kimmel has supported and raised money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. On April 21, they celebrated their son’s 7th birthday, posting photos of him and writing, “Billy turns 7 today and a huge thank you to the doctors, nurses, therapists and staff at @ChildrensLA and @CedarsSinai.”

Meanwhile, the comedian wrote that Billy is “asking his friends to donate $7 – because I’m 7 – to help sick kids in the hospital.” This was followed by a second post with a photo of Billy thanking people for their donations. “This boy is seven years old because of you. Molly and I are overwhelmed by your generous donations to @childrensla and your kind messages. Thank you for all the love. We wish you and your families good health,” the broadcaster concluded.
