It’s been less than a week since Dave Chappelle Boom-Rush at the Hollywood Bowl, and another comedian already tops the scene, seemingly without incident… John Mulaney.
The lovable comedian took the stage Saturday night with two editorials where Dave assault him by a man just a few days ago – and according to reports, all went well… it might have something to do with the enhanced security on high alert.
THRHe’s got a nice description of the guards on hand and the general atmosphere in general – they say everyone should go through metal detectors and check their bag, as usual.
The difference is now… the wooden board that used to line the front row and stage has been replaced with a fence – and not only that, but it appears that 10 security officers lined up on the platform from below as well as other guards who were on the second level and from the sides as well.

It may sound more intense than it actually was – while there weren’t any phones allowed from the audience, someone got a video of John walking off the stage to thunderous applause…give us a great view of the front of the screen. Stage, the fence looks weak.
John admitted it on his set – mocking HB’s security and the Chappelle incident in general… He reportedly said, “We have great security. This fence is so jumpable it’s crazy.”

Another reference to the stage crash…John defied the crowd (jokingly, of course) by saying, “No one’s going to do anything. You don’t have the balls.” And he kept talking about how big a rush on stage was for whatever reason someone was going on about it.
his intro, Earthquake And Seton Smithalso referred to Isaiah Lee …but keep it moderate, it seems. In the end, it looks like everyone had a good time – and no one was hurt.
