We then started our journalistic investigation, which led to the first revelation on Friday, Brussels. With a massive police operation launched in the city.”
“Investigators suspect Qatar of paying high-ranking officials in the European Parliament, the largest amount of which was discovered on Friday, first at the home of former Italian MEP Pier Antonio Panzeri, and later, during the day, when Greece’s Eva Kaili, one of the vice-presidents of the European Parliament, was caught red-handed at her home Money was also found. We don’t know the exact amount, but we are definitely talking about several hundred thousand euros.”
According to the journalist, “this is only the beginning” and he underlined: “Our main challenge is the same as that of other journalists and that is to protect the identity of our sources. Also, when discussing such sensitive matters with colleagues, another challenge is the interruption of discussions or the information we have received. To be avoided, this is linked to ensuring the confidentiality of our sources.
