On the ERT Backstage program, Kostas Nikolis gave an interview and talked about his origin and the racism that generally exists around his nationality.
“I don't understand as much as others do that I'm an outsider, although some things haven't been completely eradicated. Often I come face to face with it again and try to embrace it. For me, it's a gift to have both. I think it's so beautiful that people can Anyone who takes elements from different cultures and societies and creates their own personal element. I want to be able to be both in some way.
Every time I've given an interview to talk about it, in many of the comments I've made about my origin, I've seen both positive and negative comments. I've seen people say that “people from Albania are killers because they shot a child in Gazi”. There you will again be faced with the argument that perhaps we have not overcome this problem.
It is the element that makes me who I am. It's a little comment I want to make. Just adding an 's' to my surname does not mean that I change my nationality and present myself as a Greek citizen.”
