Reporters Without Borders, speaking at the LSE’s Hellenic Watch event, was attacked in a vicious attack.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis became internationally famous in London when he lost his cool and attacked Reporters Without Borders in an unacceptable way for our country to rank 108th in press freedom. The Prime Minister called the statement “disgusting”.
In particular, Kyriakos Mitsotakis discusses the 25th anniversary of LSE’s Hellenic Laboratory with Kevin Featherstone, Professor of Modern Greek Studies and Director of the Hellenic Laboratory at the London School of Economics. He then took questions from the audience, including a graduate student asking about press freedom in Greece.

“There is no problem in Greece regarding press freedom. Anyone can write anything, there are many channels. Greece ranks 108th in press freedom, according to a non-governmental organization. Chad is 105. Sorry, but that’s bullshit. Forgive me for my language,” he said, adding:
“I have never been a journalist at court, but some of the things written in Greece about me and my family, you would have serious trouble in England.”
