Larger iPad Air, iPad Pro with OLED display, and MacBook Air with M3 coming in early 2024 – iPad

According to the journalist By Bloomberg On Apple matters, Mark Gurman, the Cupertino company is gearing up for big additions for 2024 with the release of a larger iPad Air as well as the much-discussed iPad Pro with an OLED display.

In addition, the company will release an updated version of the MacBook Air with Apple’s new M3 processor that debuted in the updated 14-inch MacBook Pro as well as the new iMacs.

The new iPad Air will reportedly have a 12.9-inch display, which will add to the current 10.9-inch model, bringing the lineup much closer to the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro options. Gurman did not give a specific release date, saying only that the devices will be released “in early 2024” – perhaps in March – adding that Apple hopes to revive sales of both series.

The company will also release a new version of the Apple Pencil, Gorman reports. The new Pencil will be the third generation of the flagship Pencil device, so it will likely be similar to what the company launched five years ago. Recently, Apple updated its Pencil line with the USB-C-equipped Apple Pencil, which is more affordable — but not compatible with the cheapest iPads. The company is also expected to release new iPad Magic keyboards.

Gorman has previously said that the new iPad Pro, scheduled for release in 2024, will mark the first major redesign of the tablet since 2018, the year Apple introduced the new flat design that eventually made its way to the 10th generation iPad last year.

This year, the company launched the slightly redesigned iPhone 15 series with rounded edges. The Pro models feature titanium sides and thinner bezels that reduce the smartphones’ external dimensions rather than making the screens larger, and it seems likely that the new iPads will adopt at least some of the same design cues. The company is also gearing up to release its long-awaited mixed reality system, Apple Vision Pro.
