Magda Tsangani gave a full interview to Soz Magazine.
Among other things, the actress mentioned her adventure with cancer and also the tamas she offered to Saint Nectarios and her deep faith in God.
Were you afraid when you were diagnosed with cancer?
When I was told I had breast cancer, I was afraid I was going to die. I prayed to Saint Nectarios that I would live on this day next year. Because I come from my mother’s side, Aegina, Saint Nectarios is our man.
Did you trust him?
Of course, even when I was undergoing chemotherapy, I would sit in bed with a piece of toast on one side and a picture of Agios Nectarios on the other. Today I live by the miracle of Saint Nectarios, but also by luck and the very good doctor I had. Imagine that some time ago when I was going up to the ruined house to buy some clothes, I was saying to myself, Saint Nectari, give me strength because my whole life was there.
Faith is your refuge.
I live by my faith. When I was seven years old, at the last moment, I saw a car heading towards me. I didn’t have time to respond. The next thing I remember is my father sitting over me in the hospital crying. He was crying with joy because I lived, as the doctors considered me clinically dead. I live by a miracle and I owe it to Panagia and Saint Nectarios. But it’s a story I don’t want to remember.
Have you seen the saint before you?
Yes, I saw Saint Nectarios before I had cancer surgery. When I was 14 years old, I put my ear to his grave in the monastery and heard knocking.
