Mariah Carey Devastated – Her Sister and Mother Died on the Same Day

Deep mourning for the famous singer Mariah Carey who lost her sister Alison and mother Patricia on the same day over the weekend.

“My heart is broken because I lost my mother last weekend. Unfortunately, in a tragic twist of fate, my sister passed away that same day,” the singer said in a statement.

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed away,” she told TMZ.

“I appreciate everyone’s love, support and respect for my privacy during this time,” Mariah Carey said.

The causes of Alison and Patricia’s death have not yet been revealed.

Mariah Carey’s Difficult Relationships

The iconic singer’s relationship with her mother was extremely complicated. Speaking about her, she described it as “a thorny rope of pride, pain, shame, gratitude, jealousy, admiration, and disappointment” in her 2020 memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.

Despite their difficult relationship, Mariah Carey and her mother maintained their bond, as the famous singer dedicated part of her memoirs to her, noting that her mother did her best and that she always loved her.

Mariah Carey’s relationship with her estranged sister was more complicated, with Allison suing her famous sister over abuse allegations made in her memoir.
