Mariana Vardinogiani passed away at the age of 80 after being admitted to a private hospital recently.
According to reports, the condition had deteriorated and he was on mechanical support.
Mrs. Vardinogianni is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and activist for children and family rights and against child sexual abuse. The 2020 Awarded Nelson Mandela.
He also served as a member of the Board of Directors. Library of Alexandria, International Women’s Movement for Peace, International Center for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC), Guiding Anti-Drug Foundation, Founding Member of “Light of Africa” Foundation led by Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria, Member of the Presidential Council of Europe.

Her studies and marriage to Vartis Vardinogiannis
He was born in Athens and grew up in Ermioni, the birthplace of Evangelia’s mother. His father Giorgos Bornakis, originally from Sampathiki, Arcadia, studied economics at the University of Denver in Colorado.
She married businessman Vardis I. Vardinogiannis, a motor oil executive and ship owner, with whom she had 5 children: Giannis (1962), Christiana (1964), George (1967), Nikos (1974) and Vardianna (1976).

International and national activities
He became a member of various associations and charities through which he fought for international peace and global unity, although his main concern was children’s issues: health, education, social welfare and poverty, child abuse and exploitation.
He was the founder and president of the “Foundation for the Child and the Family”, which was renamed “Mariana V. Vardinogiani Foundation” and the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer “ELPIDA”.
Since 1999, she has been a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for issues related to children’s rights and protection and cultural heritage. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors.
