Meghan Markle – Prince Harry: Why they stopped looking for a house in Britain

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly put their plans on hold to find a home in Britain.

Prince Harry is said to be eyeing British properties so he and his wife can stay in the country when they visit rather than staying in hotels. However, the couple’s search for a home on British soil appears to have been shelved for now due to growing concerns from King Charles’ second son for his family’s safety.

“Harry really wants to spend more time in Britain, but he doesn’t feel comfortable doing so until the security issues are resolved,” he added.A source told Express.co.uk that Prince Harry’s legal dispute with the British state over the security he receives while in Britain appears to be delaying his plans to find a home in his homeland. “He and Meghan had planned to look for a part-time home near Windsor this year, and were hoping the appeal process would be heard before the end of July so they could start looking in earnest. However, the legal process appears to be taking its time.”The source said.

Earlier this year, the High Court in London ruled that the couple should be stripped of their taxpayer-funded UK insurance.
Prince Harry has been ordered to pay 90% of the Home Office’s legal costs. In February, High Court judge Sir Peter Lynn ruled there was no wrongdoing in removing security protection for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In 2020 when they ceased to be working members of the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex then appealed the decision. “The timing is a bit unfortunate. There were plans afoot to spend more time in the UK this year, but with there still being a big question mark over security, they (including the Sussexes) don’t feel confident about bringing the children with them.”The source said.
After being evicted from Frogmore Cottage in June 2023, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have no permanent place to live in their homeland. The Duke of Sussex is said to be keen to have a base in London to which he can return rather than go to hotels.

The couple were beaten when asked. To hand over the keys to Frogmore Cottage, the royal residence they believed would “always be there for them”. The couple received the lease on the house from Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding gift in 2018. However, after they resigned as working members of the British royal family and left for the United States, they were asked to hand over the keys to the luxurious royal residence.
