Metal Gear Solid D vs Metal Gear Solid 3: See the Huge Leap in Graphics!

We recently saw new footage from the long-awaited movie. Metal Gear Solid Δ Snake Eateras part of Microsoft’s big Xbox Games Showcase.

So, using this brand new footage, the popular YouTube channel “ElAnalistaDebits” that specializes in this type of content, has published a new comparison between the new version and the original title.

Let us remind you that Delta will leave behind the Fox Engine developed by Kojima Productions for the final chapters of the series. Instead, the remake will use Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games’ impressive graphics engine. The jump in graphics is expected to be huge, as this new comparison video showcases the differences in character models, animations and environments, as well as the gunplay and camera system.

For the record, the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released in 2004 exclusively for the PlayStation 2. It is the fifth game in the series, written and directed by Hideo Kojima, and is a prequel. It was later re-released as Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence with additional features and content, followed by a remastered version for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Set in 1964 during the Cold War, the game follows an agent codenamed Naked Snake as he attempts to rescue a Russian scientist, sabotage a nuclear weapon, and assassinate his former mentor. The game received critical acclaim for its story, gameplay, graphics, and sound. It has sold over four million copies worldwide as of March 2010 and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.

Since Metal Gear Solid 3 is considered one of the most beautiful PS2 games, the comparison in question can also be considered one between the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 2, showing us how much technology and capabilities consoles have come since then.
