The Middle East is on the brink of collapse after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, for which Israel holds him responsible, and Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr by Israeli armed forces.
Iran and its allies have vowed to respond, and have rebuffed efforts by diplomats from the United States and the Arab world to soften their response, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The Israeli army is on “high alert” in anticipation of a possible attack by Iran and Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst reported, citing unnamed sources in the region, that “officials in the Middle East believe we have reached zero hour.”
According to the American network, Iran and its agents in the Middle East (Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthi) may launch an attack on Israel within the next 24 hours.

Israeli army: We are ready to intercept any threat
Against the backdrop of the imminent attack, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that the Israeli army is on “high alert” in anticipation of a possible attack by Iran and Hezbollah, and that there is currently no change in the Home Front Command’s directives.
“We are ready to intercept any threat in real time,” Hagari stressed.
Iran intends to launch a large-scale attack.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galad confirmed, during a conference call with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin, that Iranian military preparations show that Iran intends to launch a large-scale attack on Israel, according to Axios news correspondent Barak Ravid via X, citing a source familiar with the discussions.
The same correspondent noted that Israeli intelligence now believes that a direct Iranian attack is expected, perhaps “within days,” in retaliation for the assassination in Tehran of the leader of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, an act attributed to Israel.
