Strengthening of the country's land and island anti-tank defenses is expected to begin.
This is expected to be done through the delivery of TOW 2B Aero RF anti-tank missiles, which Greece will soon purchase.
During the recent meeting of KYSEA, approval was given for the purchase of these advanced systems to strengthen the infantry on the country's borders, such as Evros. About 150 TOW 2B Aero RF (BGM-71F-3-RF) systems will be added to the arsenal, previously approved by the House Committee on Armaments.
The total cost of the commission is 15 million euros. The TOW 2B Aero RF by Raytheon Missiles and Defense is an upgrade from the previous version, offering a range of 4,500 meters and better operational efficiency.
The new version allows wireless and encrypted control, ensuring resistance to interference and greater flexibility, especially in difficult terrain. Improved missiles can be used effectively against maritime targets, strengthening the defense of the Aegean islands.
The Army is already bolstered with 360 upgraded TOW 2 launchers, carried by M901 ITV vehicles, along with Russian Kornets and Apache Hellfires, providing a more powerful anti-tank arsenal and increasing the threat against enemy armor.
