A tough gang operating in the center of Athens and part of the Albanian mafia, within which war has erupted in recent years, is said to be behind the bloody episode at the Nea Ionia restaurant on Wednesday night.

A 39-year-old plumber who was in the wrong place at the wrong time was tragically killed in a shooting at a store on Kastamonis Street, police sources said, adding that four people involved in the protest have been identified.
As revealed by Vassilis Lambropoulos at MEGA, those identified from yesterday’s episode are members of a violent gang of around 10 people of Albanian origin.
Their area of operation is the center of Athens near Larissa station, while their headquarters is a club in Cepolia, from which the gang takes its name.
According to the report, the hard-hitting gang has links with convicts inside prisons and appears to act as “bodyguards” for known engineers involved in hit-and-run incidents.
Shooting
The shooting at the Nea Ionia hotel appears to have taken place after the gang clashed with three other individuals, Albanians and another group that had friction for an as-yet-unknown reason.
As reported by ERT, 4 members of the gang reached the cafeteria in a luxury jeep found at the spot and did not have time to leave.
Three others arrived in a silver Mercedes Jeep and were spotted in the GG area this morning.
As it was installed, it was stolen and taken to ELAS’ forensic lab.
Check out what was recorded on a security camera in Nea Ionia of this particular vehicle leaving the scene of the crash.
According to reports, those who took part in the protest fled in a second vehicle that was being searched for.
The gang’s cars, a black Jeep left outside the cafe and searched, appeared to be on a long-term lease with fake IDs from an unknown car rental company. Rented out six months ago.
victim
The critically injured man was rushed to the CAD Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries two hours later, despite the efforts of doctors.
A 37-year-old man from Albania, who worked as a plumber, had gone to the cafeteria to watch a Champions League football match.
